I was contacted earlier by some readers of my articles and asked for my view on the events scheduled to take place in December in Copenhagen. This was something I had only recently heard about and therefore had little knowledge of. I quickly discovered a speech on climate change given by Lord Monckton which he ends by giving a stern warning to Americans that the United States will lose its national sovereignty should Mr. Obama sign this treaty in Copenhagen in December. It seems there are some who fear such an occurrence. They truly worry that Mr. Obama will turn our country over to a world government. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we lost our national sovereignty long ago. If Mr. Obama were to sign a treaty creating a world government that would supersede the government of the United States it would be doing nothing except finally bringing out in the open what’s been happening under the table for decades.

The United States government more or less gave up its sovereignty when the Federal Reserve act was signed into law. Sovereignty was reduced to a great extent when legal tender laws were put into place that forced businesses and private citizens, by the coercive nature of federal law, to accept as money a paper note that some perhaps would not have otherwise accepted. At that time, whether it was realized or not, the United States was usurped by a cartel of private international banks whose objective was to rule the world, corral all the wealth for themselves and make the vast majority of humanity into debt slaves. We as a nation lost sovereignty when it was decided corporations have the same rights as individuals and were granted even greater immunity in the eyes of the law, which took responsibility for criminal actions and bad decisions away from individuals running said businesses. We as a people gave up even more of our sovereignty when we allowed multi-national corporations and foreign lobbyists to solicit our congressmen and senators and contribute to their campaigns. Do you think these entities care what is best for the American people? Do you think that perhaps they are more interested in looking out for their own best interests? It has been a long, long time since the federal government has actually been a sovereign entity.

That said, the Copenhagen conference scheduled for this December should prove to be an interesting event. I’ve only taken a glance at the document the meeting is about, but I can certainly see why many people would be concerned. It does seem as if a world government is being set up. Still, this does not seem to be a treaty. It is a “Framework Convention on Climate Change.” This is, as near as I can tell, just a lot of suggestions about how to go about accomplishing their agenda and implementing taxes and restrictions on people and businesses so that they can maintain control. That’s not to say that it couldn’t easily be replaced by an actual treaty by this December, I don’t know that much about how international treaties come about, but for now perhaps one should not be overly worried. I don’t believe this is going to be the “official” treaty that brings about one world government.

That being said, the concept of man made climate change remains a dangerous one to those of us worried about human liberty. The fear mongering that has gone on with this issue is unlike any I’ve seen in the past. It has been going on for decades now, at least as far back as the seventies when some were insisting that we were heading into a massive global cooling cycle and perhaps another ice age. The insistence by some that global warming is an unarguable “fact” so overwhelmingly supported by scientists as to make debate on the subject intolerable is frightening.

Scientific debate should never be stymied by such dogma as has been put out by these man made climate change zealots who have much to gain by regulating human activity. In my opinion those who continue to insist that climate change is caused by human activity instead of being a natural cycle inherent in the nature of this earth, and indeed the solar system, are either completely fooled, extremely misinformed, deliberately refusing to look at or ignoring evidence that shows otherwise, or propagating what they know to be a lie for their own gain. Those of the latter group would include certain politicians, scientists and businessmen who will benefit financially and politically from levying taxes upon all of mankind and making it difficult to innovate or even exist as a business entity without going through their strict regulatory approval process. Needless to say, anything an entrepreneur might come up with that could seriously compete with their established monopolies would likely be crushed by their system and never allowed to enter the marketplace.

Climate change conferences of the political kind are not about controlling climate change. The politicians couldn’t care less about the climate. They couldn’t care less about the environment. They couldn’t care less about the science. That is why we are hearing stories now about scientists who have been shunned by government entities for remaining honest and principled in their assessments while their brethren who go along with the government line, particularly the UN version, have been given sweetheart deals and continue to prosper. The only thing politicians care about is the best way to rip you off through taxes, especially through hidden taxation, and control. They live privileged lives and they want to make sure it stays that way.

It seems to me that politicians worldwide act very similar to those in the United States of America. They not only don’t care about the environment, the climate, or the common man, they don’t even care about the citizens of their own countries as long as they can milk them for taxes and keep getting reelected. They most likely couldn’t care less about their nation’s sovereignty. They only care about their own power, their own wealth and increasing their own status in life. Politicians in the United States in no way have a patent on corruption. Likely it is as easy for the super rich to buy a politician in France or Italy or even China or Russia as it is in the United States. These people, the rich elite pulling the strings of politicians worldwide, have their own agenda and it’s quite likely that they don’t think or care much about the common folk. They are the ones that populations around the world should pay attention to, and they have put politicians between themselves and the “lower” classes.

I would suggest that people in the United States of America aren’t the only ones who need to worry about losing their sovereignty. There are freedom lovers in every nation who worry that the creation of a one world government would further restrict their already overly regulated activities. Do you really think that someone in Poland wants to be governed by someone from Mexico? Or that someone in China wants to be dictated to by someone from Serbia? It’s difficult enough to deal with the tyranny coming from your own government, let alone what it would be like having to deal with an overblown centralized world government as I’m sure any global government would become. Such an organization would and should run into massive resistance across the globe. No one wants to be ruled over by someone living half a world away, they didn’t like it in Caesar’s time and they wouldn’t like it now. Perhaps we should be more worried about losing individual sovereignty, which is violated by arrogance at all levels of government when these groups of people threaten violence and imprisonment against those who produce if they don’t pay a portion of the money they’ve earned to the extortionists.

Perhaps that is one reason (of many) why people in other nations are so disappointed and even angry at the American people. Perhaps they expect us, with our history of freedom oriented principles, to once again show the way and become the beacon of liberty they expect us to be. Since I live in the United States and don’t trust mainstream media outlets to be anything other than propaganda arms of political factions, it is difficult to gauge the mood of people elsewhere in the world. It seems that in this nation, however, there are some encouraging stirrings. Recent “tea party” protests have proven to be more than just Republican cheer leading sessions (despite the efforts by some to hijack these events) as common folk from around the nation managed to get out the message that individual freedom is popular and smaller government in demand. The recent phenomenon of so many refusing to take government mandated and recommended flu shots shows that many no longer trust a government that has lied to them so often and are finally willing to just say no to dictates coming down from on high. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the growing popularity and the demand by the masses that a complete audit of the Federal Reserve be conducted shows that the people finally wish to hold those responsible for the financial crisis we continue to experience accountable for their actions.

Perhaps America is once again leading the way. Perhaps it is time for peoples of other nations to demand audits be conducted on their central banks. It would be interesting to see how hard the ruling elite would fight such proposals. I can see how hard they’re fighting it here. They really don’t want it done and they’re pulling out all stops, employing all political tricks and using the most powerful bought and paid for politicians at their disposal to make sure it doesn’t happen. It makes one wonder what, exactly, they’re trying to hide. Chances are if the Federal Reserve is that worried about an audit, the other central banks around the world would be just as worried and have just as much to hide.

Bringing world government out to the forefront of consciousness and getting people to worry about national sovereignty may be just a rouse to get people to take their eye off the ball, so to speak. Certainly it is something we should be concerned with, but it is not something that can be easily implemented by any entity. As individuals, we should be more concerned with our own personal sovereignty. It is up to us to refuse to simply go along with what the elite want should they decide to try to establish a world government. Furthermore, it is up to us to pull back the curtain and take a close look at the men pulling the levers behind the effort to create such an incredible power structure. It is time to see where all the wealth we common folk have created has gone. The fraud and dirty dealings that are likely to be uncovered may well surprise even the most ardent world government advocate. When this happens, then those who would “save” the world from the scourge of carbon dioxide by taxing it will likely be too worried about saving their own butts to impose a world government or a carbon tax.

From the Caribbean to Brazil, political opposition to US plans for ‘full-spectrum operations’ is escalating rapidly

The United States is massively building up its potential for nuclear and non-nuclear strikes in Latin America and the Caribbean by acquiring unprecedented freedom of action in seven new military, naval and air bases in Colombia. The development – and the reaction of Latin American leaders to it – is further exacerbating America’s already fractured relationship with much of the continent.

The new US push is part of an effort to counter the loss of influence it has suffered recently at the hands of a new generation of Latin American leaders no longer willing to accept Washington’s political and economic tutelage. President Rafael Correa, for instance, has refused to prolong the US armed presence in Ecuador, and US forces have to quit their base at the port of Manta by the end of next month.

So Washington turned to Colombia, which has not gone down well in the region. The country has received military aid worth $4.6bn (£2.8bn) from the US since 2000, despite its poor human rights record. Colombian forces regularly kill the country’s indigenous people and other civilians, and last year raided the territory of its southern neighbour, Ecuador, causing at least 17 deaths.

President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, who has not forgotten that US officers were present in government offices in Caracas in 2002 when he was briefly overthrown in a military putsch, warned this month that the bases agreement could mean the possibility of war with Colombia.

In August, President Evo Morales of Bolivia called for the outlawing of foreign military bases in the region. President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras, overthrown in a military coup d’état in June and initially exiled, has complained that US forces stationed at the Honduran base of Palmerola collaborated with Roberto Micheletti, the leader of the plotters and the man who claims to be president.

And, this being US foreign policy, a tell-tale trail of oil is evident. Brazil had already expressed its unhappiness at the presence of US naval vessels in its massive new offshore oilfields off Rio de Janeiro, destined soon to make Brazil a giant oil producer eligible for membership in Opec.

The fact that the US gets half its oil from Latin America was one of the reasons the US Fourth Fleet was re-established in the region’s waters in 2008. The fleet’s vessels can include Polaris nuclear-armed submarines – a deployment seen by some experts as a violation of the 1967 Tlatelolco Treaty, which bans nuclear weapons from the continent.

Indications of US willingness to envisage the stationing of nuclear weapons in Colombia are seen as an additional threat to the spirit of nuclear disarmament. After the establishment of the Tlatelolco Treaty in 1967, four more nuclear-weapon-free zones were set up in Africa, the South Pacific, South-east Asia and Central Asia. Between them, the five treaties cover nearly two-thirds of the countries of the world and almost all the southern hemisphere.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the world’s leading think-tank about disarmament issues, has now expressed its worries about the US-Colombian arrangements.

With or without nuclear weapons, the bilateral agreement on the seven Colombian bases, signed on 30 October in Bogota, risks a costly new arms race in a region. SIPRI, which is funded by the Swedish government, said it was concerned about rising arms expenditure in Latin America draining resources from social programmes that the poor of the region need.

Much of the new US strategy was clearly set out in May in an enthusiastic US Air Force (USAF) proposal for its military construction programme for the fiscal year 2010. One Colombian air base, Palanquero, was, the proposal said, unique “in a critical sub-region of our hemisphere where security and stability is under constant threat from… anti-US governments”.

The proposal sets out a scheme to develop Palanquero which, the USAF says, offers an opportunity for conducting “full-spectrum operations throughout South America…. It also supports mobility missions by providing access to the entire continent, except the Cape Horn region, if fuel is available, and over half the continent if un-refuelled”. (“Full-spectrum operations” is the Pentagon’s jargon for its long-established goal of securing crushing military superiority with atomic and conventional weapons across the globe and in space.)

Palanquero could also be useful in ferrying arms and personnel to Africa via the British mid-Atlantic island of Ascension, French Guiana and Aruba, the Dutch island off Venezuela. The US has access to them all.

The USAF proposal contradicted the assurances constantly issued by US diplomats that the bases would not be used against third countries. These were repeated by the Colombian military to the Colombian congress on 29 July. That USAF proposal was hastily reissued this month after the signature of the agreement – but without the reference to “anti-US governments”. This has led to suggestions of either US government incompetence, or of a battle between a gung-ho USAF and a State Department conscious of the damage done to US relations with Latin America by its leaders’ strong objections to the proposal.

The Colombian forces, for many years notorious for atrocities inflicted on civilians, have cheekily suggested that with US help they could get into the lucrative business of “instructing” other armies about human rights. Civil strife in Colombia meant some 380,000 Colombians were forced from their homes last year, bringing the number of displaced since 1985 to 4.6 million, one in ten of the population. This little-known statistic indicates a much worse situation than the much-publicised one in Islamist-ruled Sudan where 2.7 million have fled from their homes.

Amnesty International said: “The Colombian government must urgently bring human rights violators to justice, to break the links between the armed forces and illegal paramilitary groups, and dismantle paramilitary organisations in line with repeated UN recommendations.”

Palanquero, which adjoins the town of Puerto Salgar on the broad Magdalena river north-west of the capital, Bogota, is one of the seven bases that the government of President Alvaro Uribe gave to Washington last month despite howls from many Colombians. Its hangars can take 100 aircraft and there is accommodation for 2,000 personnel. Its main runway was constructed in the 1980s after Colombia bought a force of Israeli Kfir warplanes. At 3,500 metres, it is 500 metres longer than the longest in Britain, the former US base outside Campbeltown, Scotland. The USAF is awaiting Barack Obama’s signature on a bill, already passed by the US Congress, to devote $46m to works at the base.

Many Colombians are upset at the agreement between the US and Colombia that governs – or, perhaps more accurately, fails to govern – US use of Palanquero and the other six bases. The Colombian Council of State, a non-partisan constitutional body with the duty to comment on legislation, has said that the agreements are unfair to Colombia since they put the US and not the host country in the driving seat, and that they should be redrafted in accordance with the Colombian constitution.

The immunities being granted to US soldiers are, the council adds, against the 1961 Vienna Convention; the agreement can be changed by future regulations which can totally transform it; and the permission given to the US to install satellite receivers for radio and television without the usual licences and fees is “without any valid reason”.

President Uribe, whose studies at St Antony’s College, Oxford, were subsidised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, has chosen to disregard the Council of State.

The world of war is today dominated by a single superpower. In military terms the United States sits astride the world like a giant Colossus. As a country with only five per cent of the world’s population it accounts for almost 50 per cent of global arms spending. Its 11 naval carrier fleets patrol every ocean and its 909 military bases are scattered strategically across every continent. No other country has reciprocal bases on US territory – it would be unthinkable and unconstitutional. It is 20 years since the end of the Cold War and the United States and its allies face no significant military threat today. Why then have we not had the hoped-for peace dividend? Why does the world’s most powerful nation continue to increase its military budget, now over $1.2 trillion a year in real terms? What threat is all this supposed to counter?

Britain’s armed forces are different only in scale. For generations our defence posture has emphasised the projection of power to other parts of the world. And today our armed forces have the third highest military spending in the world (after the United States and China) and the second highest power projection capability behind the United States. The Royal Navy is the world’s second largest navy and our large air force is in the process of procuring hundreds of the most advanced aircraft in the world. And then there is Trident, Britain’s strategic nuclear ‘deterrent’ – the ultimate weapon for projecting power across the world. None of this is designed to match any threat to our nation. It is designed to meet the ‘expeditionary’ role of our armed forces in support of the policy of our senior ally, the United States.

This military overkill cannot be justified by ‘defence’ unless we extend its meaning to the ‘defence of its interests’ across the world. And this gets us closer to the real explanation for this military build up. US and UK companies comprise many of the biggest transnational companies. Twenty-nine of the top 100 global companies by turnover are US and seven are UK-based. And the top five global companies are all US or UK based. Both economies share many of the same strengths and weaknesses. Both have seen major erosion of their manufacturing base as compared with economies like Germany and Japan. Both have become increasingly dependent on banking, privatised utilities and financial services, hence their vulnerability in the recent banking collapse. But both retain dominance in certain key areas such as oil and gas and arms manufacturing. In the case of the UK we can add mining. Of the top 10 global companies, all but three are in oil and gas, with British companies Royal Dutch Shell and BP coming first and fourth on the list. The world’s three biggest mining companies – Anglo-American, Rio Tinto and BHP Billington – are UK-based.

Today Britain continues to export capital on a scale unmatched by any other country apart from the United States. By 2006 British capital assets overseas were worth the equivalent of 410 per cent of Britain’s GDP. This is the highest of any major capitalist economy. Much of this investment is in the United States and Europe, but a significant amount continues to be invested in extractive industries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. An even greater amount of money from abroad (mainly US) is invested in British financial and industrial companies, many of them now under external ownership. It is this interlocking of capital between the UK and the much stronger US economy which helps to bind UK and US foreign policy together. Britain’s oil and gas giants, its mining companies and its arms manufacturers have a powerful and ongoing relationship with government and an effective lobbying influence in the office of successive Prime Ministers.

All of these strands come together with the drive for ‘energy security’ by the US and UK governments. It is the desire to protect overseas investments and control the strategic materials such as oil, gas and minerals that drive the foreign and defence policy of both countries. Britain no longer has the global military reach to defend its overseas investments. Increasingly it depends on the United States for this. The unwritten agreement is that, in return, the British government supports US policy around the world. The same is true for Britain’s biggest arms manufacturer, BAE Systems. It has grown rapidly in recent years to become the second biggest arms manufacturer in the world, mainly through the acquisition of other US companies. It now gets more business from the Pentagon than the MoD. UK support for America’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan certainly helps to oil the wheels of the UK arms business.

That becomes a greater imperative in a rapidly changing world where US power is being challenged by banking collapse and growing indebtedness at home, the rise of the economies of the east, a political challenge to its hegemony in Latin America, and unwinnable wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. With the steady increase in demand for oil across the world, especially from the rapidly growing economy of China, the emergence of Russia as an oil and gas giant to rival Saudi Arabia, the creation of an Asian Energy Security Grid placing up to half the world’s oil and gas reserves outside US control in a network of pipelines linking Russia, Iran, China and the countries of Central Asia, that US strategy to control the arterial network of oil is now in crisis. The Gulf area still accounts for up to 70 per cent of known oil reserves where the costs of production are lowest. So it is no surprise that US policy continues to focus on Iran which has the world’s second largest combined oil and gas reserves.

The US response has been largely military – the expansion of NATO and the encirclement of Russia and China in a ring of hostile bases and alliances. And continuing pressure to isolate and weaken Iran by a campaign of sanctions orchestrated through the IAEA and the United Nations with the threat of military action lurking in the background. The danger is that, even under the presidency of Obama, an economically weakened United States will tend to use the one massive advantage it has over its rivals – its global war machine.

Of course the battle to secure control over strategic materials does not explain everything that happens in the world today. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are not *purely* about oil. In the Middle East the US strategy is about changing the balance of forces against the Palestinians, establishing US client states in Iraq and Iran and leaving an expansionist Israel as the only surviving military power (although even that is ultimately connected with control over Middle East oil). The wars in central Africa (especially the Democratic Republic of Congo) are not *purely* about strategic minerals. But behind the rival guerrilla groups vying for control of these assets and the rival African neighbouring states who support them, stand the mining companies and their nation states.

And what is not directly connected to the battle for strategic resources is the wider agenda of free trade, open economies, deregulation and privatisation which the US and its allies are trying to impose on every country in the world through the IMF, the World Bank, the EU and NAFTA. Structural Adjustment Programmes imposed on countries as the price for ‘forgiving’ or rescheduling debt allow US and UK transnationals to prize open and penetrate the economies of the poorest countries with catastrophic consequences for the people.

In short, to understand the world of war, we need to understand the nature of modern imperialism, and how nation states act internationally to help maximise the profits of their biggest companies. Directly and indirectly these policies generate conflict and war on a daily basis. Moreover, the problem is compounded by arms manufacturing firms, generously supported by state funds, who sell lethal weapons around the world to allow wars to be fought. In 2007 the world’s leading 100 defence manufacturers sold arms worth $347 billion, an increase of 45 per cent in the past 10 years. Britain’s ‘champion’, BAE Systems, is currently under investigation for corrupt practices in several countries and has sold all kinds of weapons across the world, including to countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel who have a record of human rights abuses.

As we have seen, British defence policy is geared to fighting wars overseas in support of the United States. Our four nuclear submarines and their payload of 160 warheads, are really an extension of America’s strategic ‘deterrent’ and could not be used independently. But there is an alternative. The overwhelming majority of countries, including some who have the technology and wealth to do differently, do not have nuclear weapons and do not seek them. They do not invest in power projection or the expensive platforms or transport systems which will allow them to fight wars thousands of miles from their own borders.

If our concern is really the defence of the nation’s land and coastal waters we could make deep cuts in our ‘defence’ spending without compromising our security one iota. Indeed, withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and Germany would dramatically reduce the threat of terrorism and reduce tensions in Europe. It would also save us a lot of money. So would cancelling the two new aircraft carriers, and the F-35 aircraft which are designed to fly from them, the Type 45 Destroyers and the Astute-class attack submarines. Our Trident submarine force is useless, dangerous and expensive and should be scrapped. None of these are required for real defence. Instead we could invest in coastal patrol vessels, early warning aircraft and relatively cheap sophisticated anti-tank, anti-ship and anti-aircraft radar guided missile launchers. Dispersal of these mobile but effective weapons would ensure that a heavy toll can be taken of any potential attacker. A fraction of the money saved could be used to tackle climate change by harnessing wind, wave and tidal energy and insulating millions of homes. We could radically cut the size of the navy, slim down the airforce and army and still have plenty of forces left over to help in any genuine humanitarian intervention led by the United Nations.

In today’s multi-polar and ‘asymmetrical’ world the only threats are from terrorism and unstable states (none of whom could remotely pose a military threat to Britain or the United States). Real security comes from strengthening and democratising the United Nations and developing collective security arrangements in all parts of the world that involve all countries in the region. Aggressive and exclusive military alliances like NATO should be disbanded. Mediation and diplomacy should be used to settle international disputes. We have lived through a most interesting experience. From the very end of October until about a week ago, a large Central European nation, the Ukraine, was experiencing what could only be called a man-made biological warfare event in the western part of the Ukraine. At its height, 200,000 people were becoming ill a day! Final official figures indicate that over 1 1/2 million people became sick in a short time, and about 150,000 were hospitalized (over half of which are still in the hospital), but less than 400 died.

As I said at the time, there were really two stories. The first story was the outbreak of what was/is called “Ukrainian Plague”. The second story was the fact that the mainstream news media totally ignored the story for the first couple of weeks; with British newspapers (and some American media) finally covering the story only in the last week or so.

We are still not really sure what was/is the cause of the illness. Some people are insisting that this was a ‘recombined’ or a mutated version of A/H1N1 Swine Flu with a key but small change (D225G receptor site) being responsible for the massive spike in cases and the rather horrific nature of some of the cases. In some fatal cases, the lungs turned to mush, were full of blood and coal black in color, and recorded an internal temperature of 130F to 135F. Many doctors called this Pneumonic Plague, others said it was some type of hemorrhagic fever, others called it hemorrhagic influenza, yet others said it was a type of hemorrhagic pneumonia. These were descriptions based on what the doctors were seeing in the very ill patients.

The World Health Organization (WHO) refused to release genetic sequences for almost two weeks and when it did, said that the disease was simply A/H1N1. WHO did not explain how the Swine Flu, which had been showing itself to be much less dangerous that normal seasonal flu, was suddenly causing such a massive spike in cases or how the mild disease could cause the hemorrhagic effect in lung tissue without a major mutation.

There are a couple of major aspects to the story that are ‘most interesting’. In mid-August a dual national Israeli-American citizen, a Joseph Moshe who is an expert on biological warfare and reported to be a Mossad agent, called in to Dr. True Ott’s national radio talk show and claimed that Baxter International was getting ready to release a ‘Plague’ from their Ukrainian facility. I am not sure, but this call might have taken place just after the show was over. In any case, he was arrested on his way to meet with an Assistant US Attorney to report his claims. The arrest was carried on television and it was reported that he was flown out of the US to Israel. Now it appears that he was charged with a minor offense and may be in a California state mental hospital.

The other ‘most interesting’ aspect to this story is the eyewitness accounts by hundreds, if not thousands, in the wester Ukraine who saw light aircraft during the day of October 29 spraying something over Ukrainian cities. The government denied doing this and said that no one had permission to spray the cities. Within hours of this spraying, people began to get very ill. In fact the beginning of the spike of the illnesses from “Ukrainian Plague’ is connected to the time of the spraying of the western Ukrainian cities with some unknown material.

If this is a ‘recombination’ or ‘mutation’ of Swine Flu, WHY HAS THE GROWTH IN THE NUMBER OF CASES DECLINED SO DRAMATICALLY? It is said that the changed virus (A/H1N1) has spread to Norway, and perhaps Poland and the eastern part of the Ukraine. If so, and the D225G change is the reason for the massive spike in sicknesses in the western Ukraine and the hemorrhagic lungs in the worst cases, why are we not seeing such large numbers of very sick people in Norway, Poland, western Ukraine, etc.?

Something rotten is going on here! But the true reason for what happened, and the people responsible are not publicly known at this time. Nor is any clear indication known as to what is apt to happen in the future with regards to “Ukrainian Plague”‘

At the end of his visit to China Wednesday, President Barack Obama warned that the US economy faces the threat of a “double-dip recession” unless the government carries out fiscal austerity measures designed to slash the mounting public debt.

Obama’s remarks came just a day after the Treasury Department announced that the US public debt had passed the $12 trillion mark, a record high. The debt has soared from $10 trillion in September 2008, at the outset of the world the financial meltdown. The unprecedented rise reflects above all the massive deficit spending that the government has used to bail out Wall Street and to assume responsibility for the bad debts of major banks and finance houses.

“Our first job was to get the economy to recover. And we’re seeing that,” Obama told Fox News in an interview conducted in Beijing.

He continued, “I think it is important, though, to recognize if we keep on adding to the debt, even in the midst of this recovery, that at some point, people could lose confidence in the US economy in a way that could actually lead to a double-dip recession.”

In reporting the remarks, the Financial Times noted pointedly that their timing, coming at the end of his three-day trip visit to China, raised the question of whether “his Chinese counterparts delivered stern warnings to Mr. Obama about the consequences of continuing high US budget deficit spending.”

China, which holds nearly $800 billion in US Treasury bonds, is the US economy’s biggest creditor. As the Financial Times noted, “some presented his [Obama’s] state visit to China as that of a debtor visiting his banker.”

In a separate interview with NBC News, Obama defended his policy when asked whether he should have acted sooner on jobs, asserting that his administration’s policies had been designed “to make sure we didn’t slip into a Great Depression.”

Obama went on to qualify his boast about economic recovery, acknowledging that “people are really hurting right now” because of the unemployment crisis. The only proposals that he raised for spurring employment growth, however, were providing corporations with a tax incentive to hire new workers and boosting US exports, which he cited as “an example of something we could do without spending money.”

The administration continues to rule out any direct job creation measures by the government itself.

Top officials in the Obama administration also stressed deficit reduction in a conference of CEOs held by the Wall Street Journal this week. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said that a plan for slashing federal deficits will be “a key component” of Obama’s annual State of the Union address in January. “It is foremost on his mind and the mind of his economic team,” he told the assembled corporate executives.

Speaking at the same conference, White House budget director Peter Orszag stressed that the administration’s so-called health care reform will add nothing to the deficit. He acknowledged that the current deficit, which reached $1.4 trillion in the fiscal year that ended in September―roughly 10 percent of gross domestic product―is unsustainable. Orszag said that the administration would present a plan for slashing it to 3 percent of GDP, but declined to spell out what measures would be taken.

Meanwhile, the administration will be compelled to ask Congress to once again raise the federal debt limit beyond the $12.1 trillion ceiling that it established earlier this year in order to stave off a government shutdown.

That the US debt is unsustainable is beyond question. According to the Treasury Department, Washington was compelled to pay $383 billion over the course of the last fiscal year just in interest on the public debt. Given that total revenues from individual federal income taxes amount to $904 billion, 40 cents out of every dollar paid by US taxpayers is going to service the debt.

Meanwhile, the tensions with China are indicative of global concerns over record US deficits and Federal Reserve lending rates of near zero that are driving central banks internationally to shift their holdings from the US dollar to other currencies such as the euro and the yen, as well as to gold.

The rise in US debt and the fall of the dollar are both symptomatic of the protracted decline of American capitalism and its shift from being the world’s manufacturing leader to the center of global financial parasitism and speculation.

The Obama administration’s focus on fiscal austerity is not designed to avoid a “double-dip recession”; in terms of the real economy, slashing government funding will make one all the more likely.

Rather, it is aimed at placing the full burden of the economic crisis on the backs of working people.

That this process is already well advanced was made clear in Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s unusually frank assessment of the “jobless recovery” presented in a speech to the Economic Club of New York earlier this week.

“Since December 2007, the US economy has lost, on net, about 8 million private-sector jobs, and the unemployment rate has risen from less than 5 percent to more than 10 percent,” Bernanke told his audience of business and financial executives. “Both the decline in jobs and the increase in the unemployment rate have been more severe than in any other recession since World War II.”

According to the government’s more comprehensive figure, encompassing involuntary part-time workers and so-called “discouraged” workers, the real unemployment rate has topped 17.5 percent, a depression level.

Bernanke also noted that the number of part-time workers who cannot find full-time jobs has doubled since the onset of the crisis, while the average workweek has fallen to 33 hours, the lowest level since the Great Depression.

“With the job market so weak, businesses have been able to find or retain all the workers they need with minimal wage increases, or even with wage cuts,” the Fed chairman continued. “Indeed, standard measures of wages show significant slowing in wage gains over the past year. Together with the reduction in hours worked, slower wage growth has led to stagnation in labor income.”

Bernanke pointed to the sharp growth in productivity―a 5.5 percent annual rate so far this year―attributing it to employers carrying out layoffs and then “asking their remaining workers to provide extra effort.”

He concluded, “The best thing we can say about the labor market right now is that it may be getting worse more slowly.”

The truth of even this limited claim was called into question by the release of subsequent figures showing US housing starts falling to their lowest level in six months―a 30.7 percent decline since October of last year―and a fall in factory production in October, the first such decline since June.

One sector of the economy is booming, however. New York State’s comptroller, Thomas DiNapoli, released a report Tuesday stating that profits on Wall Street will set a new record in 2009, with its four largest investment firms―Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase―having already earned $22.5 billion in the first nine months of the year.

As the New York Times pointed out, “Fueling the gains were extraordinary profits from the firms’ own securities trading accounts as they borrowed at near-zero interest rates and put the money to work in the securities markets.”

The report also predicted that bonuses paid at six of the top bankholding companies―Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo―are likely to top their 2007 record of $162 billion. Given that Wall Street will have eliminated 35,000 jobs by the end of this year, this means substantially richer year-end paydays for the top executives and traders.

This is the reality of the Obama administration’s policy. Massive bailouts and cheap credit policies are fueling a new financial bubble and even greater fortunes on Wall Street, while the working class is facing mass unemployment, growing impoverishment and increased exploitation.

The promises of fiscal discipline and austerity amount to the kind of structural adjustment program that Washington, through the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, previously imposed upon indebted countries from Latin America to the former Soviet bloc. Now, similar measures are being prepared against working people in the US.

The proposed health care “reform,” designed to cut costs and ultimately the life expectancy of American workers, is only the first phase of a planned destruction of the limited social gains won by working people in the US since the 1930s.

The conditions described by Bernanke―mass unemployment being used as a bludgeon to extract wage cuts and increased productivity from workers―is, from the standpoint of America’s ruling oligarchy, not the problem but the solution. Combined with the fiscal austerity and budget cutting policies being championed by Obama, this assault on living standards and basic rights is aimed at making American workers pay for the crisis created by capitalism.

Obama Allies Want New Tax. Despite the fact that 36 per cent of income tax already goes to national defense

Not content with savaging American taxpayers with two huge new financial burdens during an economic recession, in the form of health care reform and cap and trade, close allies of Barack Obama have proposed a new war surtax that will force Americans to foot the bill for the cost of protecting opium fields in Afghanistan, paying off drug lords, and bribing the Taliban.

Warning that the cost of occupying Afghanistan is a threat to the Democrats’ plan to overhaul health care, lawmakers have announced their plan to make Americans pay an additional war tax that will be taken directly from their income, never mind the fact that around 36 per cent of federal taxes already go to paying for national defense.

“Regardless of whether one favors the war or not, if it is to be fought, it ought to be paid for,” the lawmakers, all prominent Democratic allies of Obama, said in a joint statement on the “Share The Sacrifice Act of 2010 (PDF),” reports AFP.

The move is being led by the appropriately named House Appropriations Committee Chairman Dave Obey, Representative John Murtha, who chairs that panel’s defense subcommittee; and House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank.

The tax would apply to anyone earning as little as $22,600 per year in 2011.

The proposal is described as “heavily symbolic” with little chance of passing, but it once again illustrates the hypocrisy of an administration that swept to power on the promise of “change” to the Neo-Con imperial agenda and a resolve to reduce U.S. military involvement overseas. In reality, there are more troops in Iraq and Afghanistan now under Obama that at any time during the Bush administration.

At the height of the Bush administration’s 2007 “surge” in Iraq, there were 26,000 US troops in Afghanistan and 160,000 in Iraq, a total of 186,000.

According to DoD figures cited by The Washington Post last month, there are now around 189,000 and rising deployed in total. There are now 68,000 troops in Afghanistan, over double the amount deployed there when Bush left office. What precisely would this extra tax be used to pay for? Namely, bribing the Taliban, paying off CIA drug lords, and protecting heroin-producing opium fields.

Numerous reports over the past two weeks have confirmed that the U.S. military is paying off the Taliban with bags of gold to prevent them from attacking vehicle convoys, proving that there is no real “war” in Afghanistan, merely a business agreement that allows the occupiers to continue their lucrative control of record opium exports while they finalize construction of dozens of new military bases from which to launch new wars.

The Afghan opium trade has exploded since the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, following a lull after the Taliban had imposed a crackdown. According to the U.N., the drug trade is now worth $65 billion. Afghanistan produces 92 per cent of the world’s opium, with the equivalent of at least 3,500 tonnes leaving the country each year.

This racket is secured by drug kingpins like the brother of disputed president Hamid Karzai. As a New York Times report revealed last month, Ahmed Wali Karzai, a Mafia-like figure who expanded his influence over the drug trade with the aid of U.S. efforts to eliminate his competitors, is on the CIA payroll.

As Professor Michel Chossudovsky has highlighted in a series of essays, the explosion of opium production after the invasion was about the CIA’s drive to restore the lucrative Golden Crescent opium trade that was in place during the time when the Agency were funding the Mujahideen rebels to fight the Soviets, and flood the streets of America and Britain with cheap heroin, destroying lives while making obscene profits.

Any war surtax will merely go straight to maintaining the agenda that Obama inherited from Bush, the continued looting of Afghanistan under the pretext of a “war on terror” that, as revelations about bribing the Taliban prove, doesn’t even exist.

In spite of the ready availability of information found online as well as in libraries, like other neglected topics in so-called “history books”, the real origins of the United States are ignored and/or misrepresented.  One must have the skills (now rare, no longer taught in the schools) of critical thinking to research, find the facts and separate them from outright lies and misstatements.   Many books contain little more than untruths, repeated again and again.  The answer can be as complex and arcane as you want, but it’s pretty simple.  It’s all about the money!

Naturally, with the Internet Information Revolution, we are in a new era of publishing.  Hence, alternative ideas and theories are more available.  But in spite of that, many Americans don’t appreciate being told that the things they learned as school children – and later taught their children – were, at best, a bunch of highly embellished and thoroughly cleansed folktales.  Those who try to look at the facts and write about them are most often resented and ignored.  Needless to say, bestselling authors, publishers and columnists do not want to be seen in this light, hence the facts are suppressed.  In most cases, they are simply ignored and remain unmentioned.

Let’s start in the beginning.  We are, more often than not, told that we are a Christian nation, founded on solid Biblical principles, but this does not hold up under scrutiny.  Far from it!  Practically all the key figures in the colonial separatist movement were Freemasonic occultists.  If they publicly practiced a religion other than that, it was usually philosophical Deism and/or ultra liberal semi-Christian Unitarianism and Universalism.  Even then, none were ever known as regular churchgoers.  Religion, as expressed in various Christian creeds and confessions, means utterly nothing to devout Freemasons, especially at the levels of the higher adepts.  They see themselves as above all of that.

The Freemasons were Illuminati Globalists, part of an elitist society who felt they had the best ideas for governing the world.  Their successes at the turn of the eighteenth century placed them in charge of two major nations, one old and one new.   Their principles were not only expressed in internationalist political philosophies, but in spiritual matters as well.  Freemasonry is a perfect model for a one-world religion.  Since its origins are philosophically and symbolically in the Temple of Solomon and various Old Testament folktales, its basic Hebraic heritage cannot be denied.  Of course, this is also makes a convenient kindred link to Christianity.  For the most part then, Freemasonry can be seen as a form of Kabalistic Judaism.  Of course, this creates an influential international support group for political movements such as Zionism.  When we read the infamous Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, we see that the entire program is framed in a Freemasonic format.  Why is this?  The Lodge’s deepest and most arcane mysteries come from that part of the Judaic Talmud called the Kabala.  In Hebrew, Kabala translates as the “whispered tradition”.  The deeper mysteries are rarely written and even then, never completely.  In the full meaning of the Hebrew word, the dogma and doctrines are transmitted only from mouth to ear.  This is the true origin of the teachings deep at the heart of Freemasonic occultism.  If you have a doubt about this, read Morals and Dogma, first published in 1871 after decades of research.  More than anything else, it is best described as a manual of Kabalistic numerology and mysticism.  It was written by 33^rd degree Mason, General Albert Pike, but with considerable input by the master magus and Kabalist of the nineteenth century, Eliphas Levi.  Even if you only read a little, selecting here and there, you’ll see the truth of what I say.  Lodge members are taught to use all religions to their advantage.  A 33^rd degree modern-day Mason, tells us more.

He realizes with the divine illumination of his lodge that as a Mason his religion must be universal: Christ, Buddha or Mohammed, the name means little, for he recognizes only the light and not the bearer. He worships at every shrine, bows before every altar, whether in temple, mosque or cathedral, realizing with his truer understanding the oneness of all spiritual truth.”  Manly P. The Lodges were thoroughly entrenched in early America, even before they were in Europe.  Once the American Revolution was done, they staged the French one, which turned out to be much more violent and bloody than what happened here, but both Revolutions were part of a larger Freemasonic-Illuminati geopolitical game plan.  And, it began right here in the colonies.

“…Masonry made its way among the important men, among the intellectuals and the most intelligent of the upper middle class.  It spread over the United States with the same success.  Philadelphia had its lodge in 1727, Boston in 1733, Georgia in 1734, South Carolina in 1735, etc.  In Europe, Paris had its first lodge in 1725, but Florence had to wait until 1733, Hamburg till 1737, Berlin, 1740, and St. Petersburg, 1771.  America wasn’t behind the times.”  Bernard Fay, Franklin, the Apostle of Modern Times, 1929, p. 145.

SECRET LODGES AND RESTRICTED RITUALS.

Not all the names connected with the Lodges are known.  There are covert lodges with secret oaths and degrees totally unknown to Masons in the lower levels.  The more ordinary members and a few selected others are the ones known to the public; the others are not.  Satellite societies like Skull and Bones also figure in.  It seems reasonable to assume that if the bizarre and obscene rituals of Skull and Bones are at all typical, then this is just the tip of an ugly iceberg.  Do some secret ceremonies involve ritualized homicide?  In February 1998, the remains of four adults and six children were found in the basement of a London home once occupied by Benjamin Franklin.  All showed signs of dismemberment and dissection.  Anatomy lessons presented by Dr. Franklin, the scientist?  Or macabre magical rites?  Old Ben was active in the infamous Hellfire Club, legendary for its obscene, drunken and demonic doings.  To sum up, both today and yesterday, there are extremist sects under the broader Masonic umbrella.  This was certainly the case at the end of the eighteenth century.

“Towards the middle of the eighteenth century, Europe basked in the light of a thriving Freemasonry.  Masons were to be found everywhere.  Everywhere brethren congregated in secret and mysterious meetings. ” Fay, Revolution and Freemasonry.

Most members never go beyond the Master Mason third degree.  In that position, they may preside over a Lodge.  To pursue advanced degrees means investing considerable time, effort, travel and money.  Most are satisfied with what they learn in the basic “Blue Degrees”, and think they have hints to the rest.  This, of course, creates a worldwide cadre of “useful idiots”.  Of course, other candidates are pre-selected for higher degrees and roles as soon as they join.

“The Blue Degrees are but the outer court or portico of the Temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the Initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands them. Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry.”  …  It is well enough for the mass of those called Masons, to imagine that all is contained in the Blue Degrees; and whoso attempts to undeceive them will labor in vain.”  Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma, 1871.

WHAT WAS THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION ALL ABOUT?

Another myth we’re taught is that the Revolution was an across the board popular movement for freedom, supported by almost all the people.  In truth, it was not.  Like most revolutions, it was led by a minority activist faction.  Indeed, most colonists were loyal to the crown.  The independence movement was led by a wealthy clique with interests in trade, shipping and agriculture.  However, some were more conservative and a bit hesitant to embrace the revolution.  The Declaration of Independence was not fully signed until five years after the conflict was over!  Why was this?  Most did not sign this Freemasonic document until well after the fact because they either thought secession was a bad idea, or wanted to see if the new nation was going to last before committing themselves.  Thus, the revolution was staged by a small party, almost all of whom were Masons.  In Revolution and Freemasonry, 1680-1800, Professor Fay says the Lodge was the unifying factor that brought off the revolution.  It probably would not have happened without it.

“Masonry alone undertook to lay the foundation for national unity in America, because through the very nature of its organization, it could spread throughout all the colonies and work steadily and silently.  It created in a limited but very prominent class of people a feeling of American unity without which the American liberty could not have developed – without which there would have been no United States.”  pp. 229-230.

“Freemasonry cannot deny the outstanding role played by its leaders in the Revolution, or that the Continental Congress, where the delegates from the colonies met to prepare a common political program and to organize the defense against England, was in majority composed of Masons. These congresses were imbued with the purest Masonic spirit, as proved by their actions, which finally was expressed in the Declaration of Independence.”  …  George Washington and Benjamin Franklin were the columns without which the Temple of American liberty would have crumbled; Washington and Franklin were the two outstanding Masons of the time.  During the long and bitter conflict which disrupted the country, they never stopped their Masonic activities.”  pp. 241-242.

The Continental Army was led by General Washington, who succeeded because of his utterly committed leadership style.  He was a true spiritual inspiration to his troops.  Under his command, they won significant victories over both the British troops and their German mercenary forces.  Indeed, they almost always held their own against the much better-trained European professional soldiers.  Without Washington, a dedicated and proud Mason at the helm, this might not have happened.  Indeed, the Continental Army could be called a Masonic organization, especially in the upper ranks.

“All the staff officers Washington trusted were Masons, and all the leading generals of the army were Masons; Alexander Hamilton, John Marshall, James Madison, Gen. Greene, Gen. Lee, Gen. Sullivan, Lord Stirling, the two Putnams, Gen. Steuben, Montgomery, Jackson, Gist, Henry Knox and Ethan Allen were Masons.  They all gathered around their Master Mason Washington and they all met at the ‘Temple of Virtue’, ‘a rude structure forming an oblong square forty by sixty feet, one story in height, a single entrance which was flanked by two pillars’.  The monument had been built by order of the Commander in Chief as an Assembly Hall for the meetings of the field lodges.  The atmosphere which surrounded Washington was Masonic and it may be said that the framework of his mind was Masonic. His opinion of Masonry was that which he expressed later in life: ‘The virtues that ennoble mankind are taught, nourished and fostered in the heart of the Freemason; they encourage domestic life and serve as a standard for the highest duties of the state.’  No wonder that he had given such an impulse to Masonic life in the army. p. 250.

“Eighteenth century Freemasonry had fostered the revolutionary spirit, the revolutionary spirit had brought about the American and French Revolution.”  p. 305.  …

“Freemasonry itself did not make the revolutions, but prepared and achieved them.  It impelled its members to play their part in the revolution, but when the revolution actually started it disappeared, to appear again later more brilliant and alive than ever. This fact has enabled many historians to state that Freemasonry had nothing to do with revolutions.  This is an error.”  p. 314.

The internationalist forces of Freemasonry brought the same revolutionary spirit to France, but to a more extreme degree.  The French Revolution followed very quickly on the heels of the American one.

FREEMASONRY AND THE U.S. CONSTITUTION.

Because of their close connection with the Founding Fathers, today’s Masons proudly claim that the Constitution is solidly based in Lodge traditions.  It appears that, in several ways, the document was Masonically-inspired.  But (either because of or in spite of this) we have to admit they did an exceptional job!  Without a doubt, this truly revolutionary document is a genuine and lasting political and spiritual miracle.  No other governmental system is more on the side of the people, protecting them from oppression, than the principles and precepts found in our original American Constitutional Republic, but not in the debased mockery that exists today.

“Another connection lies between the philosophic ideologies and symbols of the American Revolution and those of Freemasonry.  For example, as Bailyn pointed out, ‘the word constitution and the concept behind it was of central importance to the colonists’ political thought; their entire understanding of the crisis in Anglo-American relations rested upon it.’  [See Bernard Bailyn, Ideological Origins of the American Revolution, 1992.]  What Bailyn did not discuss is how Masonic the focus on a constitution is. The Masonic constitution had been written by Reverend James Anderson under the guidance and direction of the newly formulated Grand Lodge of England in 1723, and updated and expanded in 1738.  Consisting of more than merely the rules of the Fraternity it also compiled one of the first historical portrayals of the Craft.  After the formation of the Grand Lodge of England in 1717, the role of constitutionality and distribution of legitimate Charters began to dominate the politics of Masonry. FREEMASONRY AND THE SEAT OF POWER.

Washington DC seems planned and laid out according to Masonic Kabalistic symbolism and numerology.  I’ll not overload you with photos and diagrams and references; they are easy enough to find.  If you’ve ever visited our capital, you know the climate is often abominable.  Until air conditioning came along, many governments gave hardship pay to diplomats who had to endure the uncomfortable living conditions.  Obviously, there were other reasons for locating the capital of the new nation in such a place, such as Ley Lines.  In addition to obelisks and other occult symbolism in DC and on our currency, the House of the Temple is the most impressive Masonic monument in the world.  With an impressive library of over 250,000 volumes, it is prominently featured in Dan Brown’s 2009 novel and movie, The Lost Symbol.  Albert Pike is interred and enshrined there.  His statue is the only one in the Union capital of a Confederate general.  While the Masons deny it, Pike was supposedly the chief judicial officer of the original Ku Klux Klan.  Given his lifelong interest in researching and preserving old lodge records about obscure degrees and rituals, if asked, he probably would have (confidentially, of course) helped to properly organize and launch the Masonically-inspired Klan.  As you might expect, his statue still creates controversy, especially since it is located on public property in Judiciary Square.  However, there are no plans to remove it.  If interested, in more, begin with Masonic and Kabbalistic Symbols in the Washington, D.C. CONCLUSION.

As you’ve seen, we really don’t have to go all that far to find clear and certain evidence pointing to the rather peculiar Kabalistic doctrines, dogma and occult rituals (ceremonial magic) of Freemasonry in the founding of the American republic.  Even limiting their influence to the publicly known Lodge Brothers, absolutely no other social group comes anywhere near their overwhelming and long-lasting impact on the beginning of the new confederation of former colonies.  A short time later, they created the Constitution, thus founding the United States.  In the final analysis, we must conclude — regardless of feelings about secret societies and their agendas — that Freemasonic occultism played a distinct, direct and definitive role in the creation of our nation.  Of course, this poses a pertinent question.  For better or worse, does their influence continue?  Is it with us today?  While several covert cabals play the Powers-Behind-the-Throne game, Freemasonic Illuminati occultists are omnipresent.  Given what we’ve learned from our investigation, why would you assume otherwise?
