The Taliban had all but eradicated the opium growers before the US invasion. So why is cheap Afghani heroin flooding into the United States?

And what would the other reasons be?
After all this time, nearly a year, I have not seen it stated any more clearly than when the US invaded Iraq.
About 6 reasons were given: WMD’s, Sadam, democracy, Pakistan, India, Kurds, and oil which was rarely mentioned except by bloggers.
The scary thing is that these wars are financed by debt vaguely referred to as “the taxpayer”.
