CIA has 3,000 documents related to torture tapes…
March 26, 2009
The CIA has about 3,000 documents related to the 92 destroyed videotapes that showed “war on terror” detainees being subjected to harsh interrogations, the Justice Department has disclosed, suggesting an extensive back-and-forth between CIA field operatives and officials of the Bush administration.
The Justice Department said the documents include “cables, memoranda, notes and e-mails” related to the destroyed CIA videotapes. Those tapes included 12 that showed two “high-value” prisoners undergoing the drowning sensation caused by waterboarding and other brutal techniques that have been widely denounced as torture.

There’s no way, whatsoever, that the CIA actually destroyed those tapes without making digital backups. They would never do that in a million years. They still have the tapes and they are simply lying about destroying them. It is yet another illegal move on their part to refuse to turn over the tapes in a lawful manner because they believe they are above the law, above the Constitution and above prosecution. Our country needs to STOP illegally detaining “suspects” without any legal charges being filed against them, we need to close the illegal “secret” prisons, black sites. We need to prosecute everyone who was involved in the torture from the highest to the lowest and by all means, end it.
